USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. It is a device that helps in connecting peripheral devices to the computer for example Mouse, keyboard, etc. We use this device for file transferring, connecting devices and supplying power. We also call it play and plug device.

INVENTOR: Ajay V Bhatt is the inventor of USB. There are seven companies that come together and developed USB. Here are the name of those companies that helped Ajay V Bhatt ( Microsoft, IBM, NEC, Intel, NORTEL, DEC and Compaq. In 1995 Ajay Bhatt and his team succeeded in giving it its original form and in 1996 they launched USB.

TYPES OF USB

USB type A – It is a standard USB type that we insert into the computer. This is the oldest type of connector that is still used today. Its shape is flat and rectangular.

USB type B – This is also a oldest connector that we still use. This is a connector that is used in printers and is also used in USB Microphones and its shape is square. The USB connector is large in size so to make smaller. The USB MINI Connector was created and it is used in small devices like digital cameras and old phones.

USB type C – This is a connector that is the most popular today. The USB Type-C connector is found in the maximum number of devices today. As far as we have seen, we had to connect carefully in USB Type-A and USB Type-B due to their non symmetric shape, Shape of USB Type-C is symmetric, flat, and its corners are round, and we can connect this connector in any direction. Today it is found in smartphones, tablets, and laptops. It is also used for charging big devices like modern laptops. Nowadays, there are some USB connectors that feature a type C connector on both sides.
