Brake horse power of Engine!
Brake power power is the power received at output of engine i.e. Flywheel or crankshaft. This is equal to indicated power excluding all losses.
There are many losses to indicated power of engine like friction between moving parts, power utilized for running sub components of engine (Eg. Alternator, water pump and fuel pump). After overcoming all these losses, power measured at output of engine is named as Brake horse power.
Brake horse power = Indicated horse power – Frictional Losses
or BHP=IHP-FHP
